Längst hat die Digitalisierung auch die Kunst erreicht - weltweit erfinden Künstler*innen neue digitale Räume und Erzählungen. DIMENSIONS zeigt, dass es sich hierbei weniger um einen neuen Trend, sondern um eine Konstante der Kunstgeschichte handelt, die vom Dialog neuer Technologien und künstlerischer Ausdrucksweisen geprägt ist.

Auf 10.000 qm werden rund 60 Kunstwerke vom 19. Jh. bis heute gezeigt und so ein Ausstellungserlebnis geschaffen, das auf faszinierende Weise greifbar macht, wie Kunst und technologische Entwicklungen zusammenhängen. Der Ausstellungsort, eine imposante Maschinenfabrik aus der Zeit der Industrialisierung, steht für eine Epoche, in der die Technik schon einmal das gesellschaftliche Leben revolutioniert hat und ist prädestiniert für das Thema der Ausstellung.

Digitalization has always embraced art; and today, aritsts worldwide are creating new digital spaces and narratives. DIMENSIONS shows how art has been shaped by the dialogue between new technologies and artistic forms of expression throughout history.

Around 60 artworks from the 19th century to the present will be shown in a space covering 10,000 square meters, creating a singular exhibition experience that explains how art and technological developments are interrelated. The venue, an impressive industrialization-era machine factory, creates a fitting symbolic home for the exhibition: the machinery that once revolutionized society has been replaced with today's digital art revolution
