Start der Kulturreihe „Station to Station“ | Bettina Pousttchi schafft neue Skulptur am Berliner Hauptbahnhof

Das Projekt „Station to Station“ startet am Hauptbahnhof Berlin mit der Einweihung der Skulptur „Vertical Highways“ von Bettina Pousttchi. Die international renommierte Künstlerin nutzt für ihre Skulpturen vertrautes Stadtmobiliar, z.B. Leitplanken, Straßenpfosten oder Baumschutzbügel. Pousttchi verbiegt, färbt und transformiert sie, stapelt sie auf, ordnet sie neu. Dadurch schafft sie Figuren, die in den Dialog mit ihrer Umgebung treten. „Vertical Highways“ heißt die neueste, sechs Meter hohe Skulptur, die ihren Platz im Herzen Berlins findet.
Das Werk bildet den künstlerischen Auftakt zu der Kunst- und Konzertreihe „Station to Station“. Künstler:innen und Musiker:innen sind eingeladen, für die Reisenden Bahnhöfe als Orte der Begegnung, des Austausches und der Überraschung zu beleben.

The project "Station to Station" starts at Berlin Central Station with the inauguration of the sculpture "Vertical Highways" by Bettina Pousttchi. The internationally renowned artist uses familiar urban furniture for her sculptures, e.g. crash barriers, street posts or tree guards. Pousttchi bends, colours and transforms them, piles them up, rearranges them. In this way she creates figures that enter into dialogue with their surroundings. "Vertical Highways" is the name of the latest, six-metre-high sculpture that finds its place in the heart of Berlin.
The work is the artistic prelude to the art and concert series "Station to Station". Artists and musicians are invited to enliven railway stations as places of encounter, exchange and surprise for travellers.
