Ankauf einer Werkgruppe von Armin Boehm - Das Museum Folkwang in Essen erhält als erste öffentliche Institution in Deutschland den Tiemann-Preis. Es konnte mit seiner Bewerbung für eine Werkgruppe des in Berlin lebenden Malers Armin Boehm (*1972) überzeugen und nimmt den mit 50.000 Euro dotierten Ankaufsetat am 3. November 2023 bei einem Festakt im Beisein des Künstlers und des Stifterpaares Tiemann im Museum Folkwang in Essen entgegen. Die neu ins Leben gerufene Auszeichnung richtet sich direkt an Museen und Kunstinstitutionen und ermöglicht die Erweiterung der jeweiligen Sammlung durch den Ankauf zeitgenössischer Malerei.

Purchase of a group of works by Armin Boehm - The Museum Folkwang in Essen is the first public institution in Germany to receive the Tiemann Prize. It was able to convince with its application for a group of works by the Berlin-based painter Armin Boehm (*1972) and will receive the aquisition budget endowed with 50,000 euros on November 3, 2023 at a ceremony in the presence of the artist and the donor couple Tiemann at the Museum Folkwang in Essen. The newly established award is aimed directly at museums and art institutions and enables the expansion of the respective collection through the purchase of contemporary painting.
