Die Ausstellung „Emil Schumacher, Indemini. Der Erde näher als den Sternen“ rückt die bedeutende Neuerwerbung des Werkes „Indemini“ in den Mittelpunkt einer umfassenden Präsentation. Das drei Meter hohe Monumentalwerk von 1974 zählt zu Schumachers größten Leinwänden und ist ein wichtiges Zeugnis seines experimentellen Materialumgangs.
Parallel zeigt das Museum „Songs from the Orbs“ von Benedikt Hipp (*1977), eine der profiliertesten Positionen jüngerer Gegenwartskunst. In Malerei, Skulptur und keramischen Holzbrandarbeiten erforscht Hipp das Material mit großer Konsequenz. Seine eigens konzipierte Präsentation bezieht die Architektur sowie die unmittelbare Nachbarschaft zur Ausstellung von Emil Schumacher in die räumliche Inszenierung ein.

"Emil Schumacher - Indemini. Der Erde näher als den Sternen" showcases the significant new acquisition "Indemini," at the heart of an extensive presentation for the first time. The monumental piece from 1974 stands at three metres tall and nd is among Schumacher's largest canvases. It is also one of the most significant examples of his experimental approach to materials.
In parallel, the museum presents "Songs from the Orbs" by Benedikt Hipp (*1977), a prominent figure in German contemporary art. Through painting, sculpture, and ceramic wood-fired works, Hipp consistently explores the potential of materials. Created specifically for the museum, this presentation incorporates the building’s architecture and its immediate surroundings into the spatial staging of the Schumacher exhibition.
