Das Emil Schumacher Museum würdigt „InformELLE Künstlerinnen der 1950er/60erJahre“ mit einer umfangreichen Sonderausstellung. Die längst überfällige Schau im einzigen Museum für einen Künstler des Informel im gesamten deutschsprachigen Raum wirft einen neuen Blick auf die Kunst des Informel und präsentiert Künstlerinnen, die diese abstrakte Richtung maßgeblich mitgeprägt haben.Gezeigt werden rund 80 hochkarätige Arbeiten von 14 Malerinnen und 2 Bildhauerinnen. Damit soll der kunsthistorische Kanon umlang übersehene Positionen von Künstlerinnen erweitert werden.

The Emil Schumacher Museum honours female artists of the Art Informel duringthe 1950s and 60s with an extensive special exhibition.As a long overdue show in the only museum dedicated to an Informal artist in the entire German-speaking world, the exhibitiontakes a new look at “Art Informel” and presents female artists who played a key role in shaping this abstract movement. Around 80outstanding works by 14 painters and 2 sculptors are on display—aiming to expand the art-historical canon with the long overlookedpositions of female artists.
