Am Freitag, dem 4. September 2026 präsentiert die Gedenkstätte KZ Sachsenburg eine außergewöhnliche Veranstaltung: Die Mailänder Kunstkritikerin, Kuratorin und Autorin Manuela Gandini zeigt Something is dreaming about us – einen multimedialen Monolog über Sprache und Formenwelt des Nationalsozialismus, die Verführungskraft seiner Bilder und deren Nachleben in der Gegenwart, begleitet von Live-Musik des Musikers Brando Barbieri. Ort des Geschehens ist das freigelegte Fundament der ehemaligen Kommandantenvilla, von deren Fenstern aus der Lagerkommandant einst die Misshandlungen der Häftlinge auf dem Appellplatz beobachten konnte.

On Friday, 4 September 2026 the Sachsenburg Concentration Camp Memorial presents an exceptional event: the Milan-based art critic, curator and author Manuela Gandini performs Something is dreaming about us—a multimedia monologue on the language and visual forms of Nazism, the seductive power of its imagery and its afterlife in the present, accompanied by live music by Brando Barbieri. The performance takes place on the exposed foundation of the former commandant’s villa—the building from whose windows the camp commandant could once watch the mistreatment of the prisoners on the roll-call square.
