Zum 300. Geburtstag des bedeutenden Buchillustrators und Grafikers Daniel Chodowiecki präsentiert die Stiftung Schloss Neuhardenberg eine umfangreiche Sonderausstellung. Die Ausstellung spürt der bemerkenswerten Biografie des Künstlers nach, der vom Danziger Einwanderer zum Direktor der Preußischen Akademie der Künste aufstieg. Anhand zahlreicher Leihgaben beleuchtet die Ausstellung sein vielschichtiges Schaffen und bettet das Werk in die Epoche der Aufklärung sowie der entstehenden modernen Mediengesellschaft ein.

To mark the 300th anniversary of the birth of the renowned book illustrator and graphic artist Daniel Chodowiecki, the Neuhardenberg Castle Foundation is presenting a comprehensive special exhibition. The exhibition traces the remarkable life story of the artist, who rose from being an immigrant from Danzig to become director of the Prussian Academy of Arts. Drawing on numerous loans, the exhibition sheds light on his multifaceted body of work and situates it within the context of the Enlightenment and the emerging modern media society.
